The Clain runs through the village of Lessert, of which the banks build up a very pleasent place for peaceful walks. In other times, Lessart represented a lively centre of Buxerolles, its history being tightly linked to the river. In the Middle Ages, the village owed two mills. In the 16th century, the Clain wa open to river trade and the village was able to benefit from this activity.Boats transporting up to 20 tons of cargo used to sail up or down the Clain. In 1609, 4à tons of wine which came from the coasts of Buxerolles and Saint Georges were loaded in Lessart, in route to Orleans.
