Tourism Office of Monts sur Guesnes

Monts sur Guesnes, the highest point of the Loudunais region, has settled for many centuries, and its chateau is one of its older structure. Built up around the château, the town was surrounded by walls, some of which remain, and enclosed by four gates which have unfortunately disappeared. Louis the 6th and Henri de Navarre, the future Henry the 4th, were among the famous guests who stopped at the château.

The surrounding forest and plains offer many opportunities to relax and explore the diverse countryside. This is especially the case with the Guesnes Outdoor Leisure Park with its fishing lake, walks, minigolf, archery, table tennis, camp site.

Guided tours of the chateau are offered by the tourist information office every Friday at 3p.m.
