Tourism Office of Château Larcher

The most surprising feature you come across, when entering this charming village, is its ancient fortified castle and truncated dungeon which looms above the main street. The church ( 12th C ), once the château's chapel, is an integral part of the fortification and offers a panoramic view of the wooded Clouère valley. In the midst of the village's cemetery, a lantern for the dead rises which dates back to the middle of XII th century. Nearby : the ruins of the Arlait dolmen, testify the presence of a vast necropolis (more than 100 tombs) edified in these territories around 3500 B.C. On site accommodation : camp sites, camping car areas, gîtes.
