Tourism Office of Dangé Saint Romain

In the Vienne Valley, Dangé-Saint-Romain is bordered by picturesque hills to the East and West, which stretch out towards forested areas. Here you will find rare plants and protected animal wildlife.

This community was built around river activities, and the river may be forded in very dry summers. When Gaule was occupied by the Romans, a governor, Damius, gave his name to the right bank of the town while on the left bank, monks built the Priory chapel and a toll bridge in the 5th century. Saint Romain, a disciple of Saint Martin, eventually became the patron saint of the boatmen.

There are many splendid walks to take along the banks of the river.

Local accommodation: hotels, campsites, bed and breakfast.

The Municipal Tourist Office is open for your inquires.

Market on Saturday.
