Bonneuil-Matours is ideal for those interested in nature and history. Its numerous places of interest include the Church of St Pierr, with its 12th C Romanesque chancel, and its suspension bridge over the Vienne, one of the last of its kind. Hometown of Maurice Fombeure, the town has dedicated a museum to him (free entrance). The beach : supervised and free swimming in the river, with a big and small pool, diving board from the end of June to the end of August. Other activities : fishing, children's playground, canoe-kayak, mountain bike rental, fitness trail. Local accommodation : campsite, gîtes and bed and breakfasts. Local Saturday market. Fair every 4th Tuesday of the month.
