Overlooked by the ruins of the château dating from the12th, 14th, 16th centuries, Vivonne is located at the point where the Clain, Palais and Vonne Rivers converge.
A classified Ville Etape , Vivonne is a veritable fisherman's paradise offering many water recreational sports and activities. In July and August, afternoon boat rentals are available with prior booking. Descents down the Clain can be arranged all year round. The water sports centre (open from June to the end of August) has slide, trampoline and supervised swimming facilities.
Local government has published 20 marked trail guide books available at the tourist information office.
