Tourism Office of Saint Savin

Saint Savin is world renowned for its 12th century abbey, which is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site because of its exceptional decorative paintings.

The abbey is a jewel of Poitou Roman art. Guided tours available. The entrance fee includes the scenographic trail (set in the monks' cells, this trail invites you on a sensory and interactive discovery of the site and paintings), the abbey and its mural paintings, and the monastic buildings.

After this visit, explore the Valley of Frescoes: an itinerary of a dozen monuments with murals dating from the 12th - 14th century in the Gartempe Valley between Saint Savin and Montmorillon.

Accommodation : hotels, campsite, self catering for groups and families, and bed and breakfast. The tourist office is at your service for bookings and more information.

Fair on the first Friday of the month.
