The state-owned Moulière Forest (4,171 ha) is the largest wooded area in La Vienne open to the public. Its name comes from the mill stone extraction (meulière) which was carried out here for several centuries. Between the Vienne and Clain Rivers, its privileged location has earned this site the title of "the lungs of La Vienne". Uncluttered by any recreation areas, the only man-made site is la Maison de la Forêt Information and Events Centre.
