The only PUBLIC Museum in Vienne dealing with the Second World War in this area. The municipality has part ownership of the collections.  The museum is managed by local organizations, and by veterans associations, as well as by historians of the period.

The first room shows the line of demarcation, deportation, prisoners, forced labour, daily life, the resistance movement, the S.A.S. operations, La Vienne under bombing, the secret landings, the planes which were shot down......This is the only public museum of la Vienne based on the theme :" the Second World War in la Vienne".

More than 30m of glass display cases in three rooms, the third will be opened for the 2009 season.
