The entirely restored 12th century dungeon houses the Industrial Archaeology Museum which presents Chauvigny's rich industrial history of stone quarries, the porcelaine factory as well as ancient mills, tileries, and lime kilns. From Neolithic times to the present day, chalk to limestone, Neolithic pottery to Apilco porcelain, physically produced energy to nuclear energy, the industries here are seen through the eyes of the archaeologist by means of videos, interactive terminals and models. Take the specially commissioned elevator (a recognised piece of modern art) up to the panoramic terrace for an exceptional view of the medieval town and the surrounding countryside.
