Part of this very old church dates back to the 13th century with some features from the 12th century, and it was no doubt contemporary to the bishops' château and priory which have long disappeared. This sombre edifice is in Angevin Gothic style and composed of a single nave and a square chancel. The flat-ended bell tower porch way was added during the 15th century.

Also to see: the medieval bridge, the watch tower (which is the only remaining feature of the bishops' château), and the Saint Macoux spring believed to have healing powers.

Nearby: the Saint Sauvant Forest and the historic town of Lusignan.
