15thC chateau in Gothic and REnaissance styles, walled and with deep moats. In the 15th century, a Renaissance style wing was added, and later in the 16th C a Renaissance style wing was added.
It once belonged to Madame de Montespan's lady-in-waiting, Charlotte de Vernoux. Enclosed within a quadrilateral area with guard tours surrounded by a moat, the manor is a perfect example of a small feudal fortress where Gothic and Renaissance art are displayed side by side. Also visit the postern and drawbridge remains, and don't forget to see the ancient tool exhibition.
