Le Relais du Lyon d'Or - Angles-sur-l'Anglin

Le Lyon d'Or has a varied and generous menu  of local produce, original and creative cuisine combining tastes and flavours with delicacy. The restaurant welcomes you in its two rooms seating 10 and 70, and when the weather is sunny you can sit outside on the terrace in the courtyard under the pergola, which is set among honeysuckle and jasmin. The owner is from St Emilion is also a wine expert, and has created an exceptional wine list.

Angles sur l'Anglin is classed as one of the most beautiful villages in France and is recognized for its high quality floral displays. The village draws its inspiration from the past. In the village you can visit the imposing ruins of the castle (11th - 15th century)set on cliffs high above the valley of the river Anglin, and the village. Nearby, the Rock of Sorcerers (Roc des Sourciers) is a prehistoric site of painted rocks  from Magdalenian times which also features a visitor centre. The special local embroidery technique, which is typical of the village of Angles sur l' Anglin, is taught in a workshop during the festival period "Jours d' Angles ".
